Split peas...
« on: May 23, 2009, 07:57 »
we heard split peas were good for chickens but, after soaking do they have to be cooked?
We are helping out a friend on the lottie with chickens and he doesn't know either!

Thanks in advance  :)

I would have thought that as long as they're soaked and soft enough they should be fine. Peas (I would imagine) would be similar to thing they would forage off of plants. I dont suppose it would matter if you cooked them either though, and made a nice mash.

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, I'm just surmising!
