I am running out of space to transplant my leeks, but the autumn planted garlic is due for harvesting.

Am I asking for trouble following the garlic with leeks if this is one bed in one year?

My gut feeling is don't do it!

I wouldn't ...............I've already got white rot on my plot, and wouldn't want anyone else to have it, by giving it ideal conditions  :(

Good point Mum. I was thinking white rot could result from growing onions/leeks/garlic in the same bed the following year, but wondered if I could get away with two onion tribe plants in the same year - but I do feel you are right; too great a risk and years of regret if I attract white rot.

Plan B will be to transplant my leeks 4 inch apart rather than 6" as we like them small and tender rather than big anyway and I already have some planted 6" apart so we'll already have some big ones. That way I should get them all in - sound like a plan?

-  and plant out an early maturing pea like Early Onward to replace the garlic, so the peas are harvested before the close of the growing year.
