Title: Carrots beetroot parsnips when to plant out. In gutters
Post by: cc on April 20, 2021, 11:22
I am growing in gutters  but the night time temperature is still below 4 degrees for the next week . So keep them in greenhouse till then? Note parisian and early nantes. Parisian are doing much better than early nantes.
How about parsnips and beetroot?  Same thing growing in gutters, to early to put out?
Thank you very much for your very valuable time.

These are all frost hardy so could go out if you need them to.

Agreed, if they've germinated, get them out and don't mollycoddle them in the warm.

A question... but won't the shallow guttering stunt the downward growth of the root,
unless by guttering you mean downpipe?

Just a thought.  Cheers,  Tony.

Only if you leave them into long. The parisian are small round carrots and maybe possible to grow them in the gutters. In am going to do that.
