Just a little scheme that I have running through my head, does anyone know what the going rate tends to be for pure hatching eggs of breeds such as Norfolk Blacks and other traditional breeds of turkeys ?

Whilst I'm at it, what about the eggs of pure breeds like Light Sussex, Welsummers etc ?

Hi Bodger!  Where are you going to get pure hatching eggs of Norfolk Blacks?  We thought Kellys own the breed, and we didn't think they sell hatching eggs????

Norfolk blacks are an ancient breed  that go to way back when. Nobody owns the sole rights to them. We had some about ten years ago.

Not sure if that was a good price or not, paid £15 for the 3 BR's & 3 Bronze's - but only the one hatched :(

Perhaps it was the bronze ones Paul Kelly was talking about that time when he said he and his Dad travelled all over the country buying up all the breeding stock they could find as the turkeys were in danger of extinction, and they brought them all back to Essex to keep the strain going.  Where they are now world famous.

Sorry Bodger, I'll keep me mouth shut!!   :D
