Title: Eggs in Turkey

While on holiday in Turkey we were buying big white eggs from the shops they were in all the shops and i wondered if anyone on here would know what breed  of hens they would be from.Never seen eggs like them over here.

Leghorns lay white eggs, and white stars are a leghorn hybrid.

Just trying to think what else lays white eggs.

I only really had Amber stars (another name for the white star cross), and exchequer leghorns, but they laid smaller eggs.

Been on google and searched the Turkish poultry industry and they do look like Leghorns.They were lovely big eggs.

The Americans like white eggs too.  We used to over here, but then someone said Brown shelled eggs were better for us  ::) :ohmy: and white eggs went out of fashion until Delia made them popular again a few years back
