[Bean Gardening]

Hello, after nearly two years on the waiting list i have finally got an allotment. Yippee! 
It is however largely grown over with grass  so i would appreciate any advice on the best and quickest ways of proceeding.

Good evening Bean and welcome to the site. I would suggest strimming the grass down, then turning the soil over manually so you can as much of the roots out as possible.

Up to you how organic you want to be - if you plan on using weedkiller, do it on a calm day when it's going to be dry for at least 6 hours, and don't leave it too late in the season or the plant won't be growing sufficiently to enable the chemical to work properly.
