Egg moving update
« on: June 14, 2013, 10:58 »
2 chicks have now arrived, 1 hen, 1 cockerel with 2 more eggs breaking through, hopefully the last one should start soon. Holding bowl of chick crumb for mum as well as water from time to time. 2 heads poking out of wing already... will do piccys later.

How long has been incubating them grinling?  I usually use a broody but the five that have hatched in the incubator over the last couple of days have been day 22 and 23.  Still have more in there but no signs of pipping yet, it is driving me nuts.

Looking forward to the photos.

I wonder why they all seem to be hatching late.     Not sure what mine are but I wouldn't mind one cockerel out of the 3 barred Plymouth rock bantams that I have hatched.  You are supposed to be able to sex them by the white spot on top of their heads but they are under my broody now so will have to wait and see.

Fingers crossed for you last egg hatching a girl.   :)

rang the guy I got the eggs from, he is local, to see if he had any hatching himself so I could buy some girls, but he has another 10 days to go. If i have all boys, would I be able to swap in 10 days?

I don't think you will be able to fool a broody like that.   :(
