Large Pots
« on: October 19, 2010, 22:46 »
I was wondering if anyone could recommend something that i could recycle into a large pot, roughly 60 to 70 litres in size.

I was thinking along the linesof an oil drum of some sort, but wouldnt know where to begin to look for one, the other thing that crossed my mind was them old dustbins?

We've used an old black bin, square plastic tubs, old buckets and a huge muck bucket in laws gave us.  Is that useful Jamie?

I've got several black dustbins with plants in them.  We have a big shop down here called Trago Mills and they had them on special offer a few years back for £5.
They hold quite a bit of soil so if you have to buy compost take that into account.
The clematis going up the wall at the back is in one :)

Big old plastic or galvo dustbins are ok for growing veg in.  I got a damaged very large plastic planter from Tesco and grow my spuds in it. Only the top rim was damaged so no problems with it and it was £2.
