Title: Bargain seeds
Post by: lazza on September 08, 2011, 10:35
Local garden centre was selling off packs of seeds for 50p at the weekend, and I think I got some real bargains. Many of them have expiry in 2013!!

Ended up with a good mix for next year which will include my first go at swiss chard, dwarf purple beans, and.... melons! (no chance , I would guess, but worth a go for 50p!)

Also got some winter gem lettuce, which I can apparently plant all the way through winter for growing under glass, as long as it germinates indoors... anyone tried this before?

lazza, have a search on here as there are a few threads recently about winter lettuce and other salad leaves  :) :)
