Post by: Rangerkris on September 13, 2009, 15:13
My Dad has said he got me some Garlic and onion sets, that can be planted now do they need anything in particular to see them over the winter. Im starting to enter the whole new season in my first growing year.  Im hoping to get to the plot tomorrow to get them in the ground.

I planted Japenese onion sets and some Red Electric onions yesterday. I put in some BFB before planting, and netted them over as the birds come and peck them out otherwise.  Not sure what else they need.

I too plan to plant onion and garlic sets soon.  I have had Stuttgart Giant strongly recommeneded to me.  Is it the time to plant these and what experience does anyone have of this variety?
