October's Rainfall!!
« on: November 01, 2017, 16:46 »
Here, in Clacton on Sea, I measured a grand total of 15.75 mm of rain throughout October.    Just over half an inch, is there anywhere in GB that can "better" that, (ie less than). I really need some serious rain, even the water butts are nearly empty.  :(

Not quite as dry as you, we've had 25.1mm, and I found the soil surprisingly damp when forking the beds over.

I was watering my brassicas etc by hose at the wekend, the water on our plot is left on until after bonfire night following an incident with a firework setting fire to a shed. We have had a very dry October too, and the soil is light on my plot.

Not much to wrote home about here in Reading, but the soil is not over-dry. Plenty of water in the aquafer, which is close to the surface own by the river where our plot is

44.8mm of rain here in October, half of it falling in just two days, so not exactly a soggy month overall.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
