Are you doing anything with the loin MoS - sauce/rub/marinade ? Last couple of times I've done it, it's been terribly bland and boring and I've been looking for a way to improve things.

I just poke it all over with a sharp pointy thing and then give it a rub with a generous portion of Schwartz Cajun seasoning  :D

Already tried that one MoS :( even the "extra spicy" version, I have grumpy or a least very bored taste buds lately. I'll keep trying as I'd like to add another none processed quick meat other than chicken.

There's a bit of chicken left which I thought I'd spice up tonight with some veggie rice.

Have you considered brining?  It takes time but not effort - salt, sugar if you want but not vital if you don't, any flavourings you want and then turn the tap on.

Last night for us was pork loin steaks, jacket spuds, braised red cabbage from the freezer, roasted carrots and steamed broccoli.

Tonight is curry leftovers from Saturday that have been nicely maturing in the fridge.  I might buy some chicken meat to cook and put in the dhal if I get time.  It is going to be curry and naan tonight, so a simpler meal that may need a bit of something to add some zap  :)

Not yet, that sort of thing needs a little more organisation  :nowink: I've stuck with dry rubs as they can be done at cooking time but I think I'll give marinades a go to see if I can get some flavour in there. Google showed up some interesting ones for pork chops, most of which I have the stuff for in the cupboard I just need to find some that don't resemble shoe leather.

I've just stuffed everything in the slow cooker for a chorizo a bean casserole. I was going to put a jacket with them but the supermarket and I have a different opinion on what constitutes a "large" spud so it will have to be mash.

Sounds like a plan. I'll be adding the left over leeks and some cauli/broc with it too though  ;)

After a day of emptying, refilling digging out deep litter in the chicken pen, it was all I could manage lol

Tonight it was hm fish cakes, chips & peas. Long time since I’ve made fish cakes & I put too much potato in I though & not enough lemon zest.
