Just watched river cottage and didnt realise how easy it was to make ginger beer, i think im going to make some and add it to the hamper of goodies im giving people for Christmas :D Does it realy only need 48 hours? :ohmy: :D

I am saving up some bottles to make ginger beer Jamie, as it cannot be found here ( only in the English shop!)  The recipe I have found takes longer but produces a "plant" which can keep being used, but takes a week to 'grow'.  Could you let me know how this quicker one tastes.

I do remember my friend making ginger beer at Uni - it exploded! So be careful !

I made some once, but it wasn't the alcoholic one!  It was very nice and gingery though!  Think I must try Hugh's one!
