Worried about one of my girls.
« on: September 19, 2011, 00:25 »

I am concerned about my favourite chook Lola. She has had a runny nose for about a week. She quite happily lets me clean all the mud that has caked on to her beak because of it. She isn't coughing or wheezing and is eating and drinking well. The other three girls all seem fine.

Would apple cider vinegar help?

The discharge could be due to a number of reasons, including irritations (check to see if the inside of the coop is dusty).

I'd keep a very close eye on her.  Have you tried holding her up to your ear to see if you can hear any gurgling?

Gurgling would be bad, and you will need to treat your whole flock with antibiotics :(
