Two of my best pyle pullets have been missing for the last couple of days, I had a sneaky idea that they may have  gone broody and sure enough, I found one of them this afternoon.



I found her under this old wheel barrow.




She as sitting nice and dry and as snug as a bug in a rug but none too safe from any night time visiting fox.



When she vacated her nest, I saw that she was covering a fair few eggs.
Tonight when its dark, I'm going to see if we can get her to sit in a safer place.

I've caught her up tonight and put her in a pen with a nest box placed inside it.
I've put a nest inside the box with some of her eggs in it and then closed her inside the box with a board. In the morning, I'll take the board away and hope that she decides to sit tight.
For the last two mornings the other broody has come out from somewhere to be fed and tomorrow, the carp landing net will be brought into action

I'm not too fussed about hatching chicks from these two yet, I just don't want the fox to get them.

If the broody i've caught does sit on the eggs, I'll probably stick some different ones under her in a few days time.
