how high do the need to be? As I can get 1.5m bamboo canes for pence, but I have seen some peoples at our site where are almost at the moon.

Very much depends on the variety you are growing.  Some will go to 6ft.

I think that's a biggy.  5ft maybe(?) so supports need to be 4ft.  Check the packet or google though

I'm talking cr*p.  Only 18" according to http://seeds.thompson-morgan.com/us/en/product/107/1 so a row of wee twigs is all you need.

Oh blooming great... I took your "good" advice and this morning before work I put up a 6ft pea support structure :lol:

so it is 21ft long and 6ft hight :) took me blooming ages... the packet said nowt about hight and forgot to google before buying the bamboo from wilkos last night :)

Both around 18". Dunno about 'new money' measurements though!! (OK 45cm).

According to T&M, onward is 30 inch

waverex is a petit pois - 15 to 20"
