how high do the need to be? As I can get 1.5m bamboo canes for pence, but I have seen some peoples at our site where are almost at the moon.

Very much depends on the variety you are growing.  Some will go to 6ft.

I think that's a biggy.  5ft maybe(?) so supports need to be 4ft.  Check the packet or google though

Oh blooming great... I took your "good" advice and this morning before work I put up a 6ft pea support structure

so it is 21ft long and 6ft hight took me blooming ages... the packet said nowt about hight and forgot to google before buying the bamboo from wilkos last night

According to T&M, onward is 30 inch

waverex is a petit pois - 15 to 20"
