i purchased this off of ebay a few month back for my new allotment. it does work but the belt slips a bit and could do with a new one, however i dont know what make and model it is, im not sure if it is an original merry tiller or not, all i know is it has a suffolk engine.
any ideas anyone?

Hello,
I have a hunch that it is a Qualcast Cultimatic Super.??..hiding under the coat of blue...
The Cultimatic Super had the Suffolk 98cc engine 98g14 and later, I believe, the aluminium A98....both in rotavator guise had fuel tank mounted on cowling top.
It looks to be an ex Suffolk Super Colt/Punch fuel tank that would have fitted on the mower handlebars retro fitted to the rotavator handles.. Perhaps a Suffolk 75cc 75g14 engine ex the same mower too.??
It's not a Merry Tiller.
For ref'...It looks to have the tines on the wrong side too...the tines should present the progressive curved side of the blades to the soil rather than a shear corner as in photo.

i just googled it in images and i would agree, thanks for the help by the way :)
do you mean the tines are on the wrong way around then? they just slide on so i bet they will go the otherway around
-
Yes, slide them off the shaft and swop them left to right and vice versa..

thanks for the help, looking at the pics its got 4 tines, the guy that sold me it said it had a spare set but i couldn't get them to fit, now you say that, they may fit as it currently only has 2 :)

The machine at new would have had 4 tine units..ie; 2 on each side.
These were handed and also inner and outer types....hopefully the attached drawing will explain ;)
