Been offered a broody welsummer,but read that they don,t make very good mothers is this true,if so in what way.

Its news to me, they are a traditional breed so i would imagine that they would be alright.

Anyone got any advise on transporting a broody,about 30 min car journey,would you put her in a box with straw and eggs or would she be alright away from eggs for that long. when i get her home do i put her on the eggs to be hatched or give her a couple of days on dummys. thanks for any advise. :)  bill

you can move her with the eggs ,depends how long she has been siting them .its a big risk as she will be unerved by the travelling better to let her set full term where she is now and collect her and the chicks later .oh and i have had wellies fer ages and they are great moms  :wink:
