thank you for all the kind words and hugs, Bambi's funeral will commence in about an hour (Sam's gone off to dig her grave) we still have no ideas or clues to why she died, we have examined her from head to foot and she doesn't have a mark on her, her droppings were normal, she wasn't bloated last night or this morning but she is now, her mouth was clear, her eyes still bright, no sign of infections, she's up to date with her tetanus jabs, she appears to have passed in her sleep lying down (upright, not flat on her side) this morning i wasn't aware she was dead straight away, it was when she didn't greet me at the stable door for food i realised something was wrong (even then i poked her thinking she was sleeping) i guess without a post mortem we'll never know what killed her, my dad thinks she may have had a dodgy heart, i have found out by googling that once a goat is sick they can die rapidly, but she wasn't sick last night, she was fine, we have been round the field she was in (all the other goats were in there and their fine) to see if we can spot anything she could have eaten that could be poisonous or dangerous (wire ect) but we haven't found anything, there isn't much more we can do except to watch the others closely and make sure we pick up on anything that isn't right.
The manager at work came to tell me off for some misdemeanor this morning (i have misdemeanors every day, leaving hoovers lying around ready for unsuspecting customers to trip over, not having wet floor signs out (for unsuspecting customers to slip on) glass cleaner left in the porch......) he took one look at my face and turned and walked away
