I need somewhere on the plot for seedlings, and my previous thoughts of a pop-up greenhouse were rightly pooh-poohed.

I only have a half plot, and I don't want a permanent greenhouse. The plot is fairly windy, so temporary constructions need guy ropes etc.

Has anyone a)any suggestions or b) used a culti-cave before?

Not seen or got one, but all the pics in the the ad show the Culticave located in quite sheltered locations - I'm afraid it's another cheap, ultra-lightweight/large surface area construction which is asking for trouble in a windy location.

Would a home-made or bought cold frame suit your purposes? It would certainly be a better choice when it comes to stability (my aluminium framed glass-glazed cold frame sits on loose concrete blocks resting on the soil - it's still movable but allows a couple of feet of growing height whilst still letting plenty of light in.)

old double glazed window unit (with opening out windows) on a loose brick base, when not needed can be stood vertical against the compost bin.
