Hi to you all
This is my first year with an allotment I have had it since March and all seems to be well apart from whitefly on the brussels. Please can anybody advise me on how to get rid of them. I have taken some of the worst leaves off  and burnt them but I am not sure what to do now before they take over and spread to other veg!  :?

I got whitefly on some winter cabbages last year. I thought perhaps because everyone else harvested theirs earlier and so the whitefly all came to ours.:evil:

I didn't try it and we didn't get much cabbage but someone told me an organic way is to use some strong tea with a bit of soap / washing up liquid in it as a spray. I think its worth a try.

All brassicas get white fly (like tiny moths). She plants lots of Tagetes and French Marigolds around the brassicas and tomatoes. I's the smell the white fly don't like. This seems to keep them away. They don't actually appear to do any harm to the plant, but they sure are a nuisance when you come to eat the stuff, especially on curly kale and purple sprouting.
