Covering allotment ground
« on: August 07, 2011, 13:04 »
Hi - well completly new to all this lark and have a huge overgrown allotment that we are starting to clear - I wanted to cover it with that black weed cover material and cover it with chopped bark or chopped leaves etc for paths but is going to work out v. costly - so my question is can a tarpaulin do the same job as Argos are selling a 5 x 3 m one for £5.49 which I thought was very good ?  Thanks

sorry, it won't let air or rain through  :(

Try your local DIY sheds or somewhere like Wilkos, even e-bay do it cheap, often without p&p :)

Bought mine incredibly cheap on ebay. Comes in all sorts of widths and lengths to sit what you want.

Worth it's weight in gold imho

I use it in sections cut to fit raised beds if they are 'resting' for more than a week or two as well  :D (Weighed down with bricks  ;) )
