Daunting task. Plot gonna take a while to get sorted.
« on: January 28, 2007, 11:04 »
Just been down to plot this morning to try to get a bit of space clear to make room for my shed that I'm gonna get soon. Gonna take a while I think. Just wanna get my shed in asap so I dont have to keep carrying my tools & stuff every time I go down, I can just leave them in the shed.
My question is, can the ashes from anything you burn be used on the plot for anything??

All plant material, wood, paper nad cardboard can be burnt on the plot and is the best way of disposing of perennial weeds and roots. The ash is very good for the soil, particularly on heavy clay soils but the fertiliser content rapidly washes out after rain.

Try to site the fire near where you will be digging first so that it can be of benefit to the crops that will be planted in a few weeks time.
