Disappointing plug plant developments.
« on: July 17, 2023, 13:21 »
I got a load of begonia plug plants in late March as usual plus a few other plants. Some of them have romped away but there are some that are only now beginning to flower, some that have big leaves but no flowers, and some that have hardly grown at all. I potted them on into large cells (15 per tray) using Sylvagrow and am now wondering if I should mix some top soil into the potting-on mix next year. What do you think? They have all been fed rose fertiliser and Q4 so not short of feed or even water when it got rather dry here in May.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Sounds as if you have done all the right things, in fact killed them with kindness.    I didn't get bedding begonias this year and only two of the larger variety have been a success.  It is just all so weird  Mrs Bouquet
