They were delivered to me last autumn, and I have just planted them into their containers.  One is called "Little Lime" about 10 inches high and not many new shoots.  The other is "Runaway Bride"  she is about 12 inches and has alot more shoots at the top.   I know one should normally cut back lower, but do you think I should do this now, or leave until next year. ?    Thanks,  Mrs Bouquet

Depends how long the stems are, I’d normally half things like that when I plant to allow them to put roots out & make more Shoots, you might still get flowers this year if you do it now

If it's a Hydrangea macrophylla type, you may be cutting off this year's blooms this early.  I'd prune after flowering.
