Because I was unable to keep my last allotment up as well as I would have liked (due to back troubles) I contacted the allotment society and they have offered us a new plot half size, well maintained and full to bursting with what I am informed are fruit trees and bushes.

At the moment most of these are just twigs, bushes of twigs or twiggy trees.  I have no idea what most of them are - in full leaf I would be hard put to tell a loganberry from a raspberry, without leaves I am totally lost.

There is a decent sized strawberry raised plot, and a row of beanpoles, a coldframe and a manure/compost area.

There is no shed, but we think we can find a place to squeeze one in, and little empty soil.

I need advice.  Do I leave everything in until I have seen what is produced?  Do I grub some out and then decide it was the raspberries that I killed?

I could easily fill the clear area with salad stuff, and though I really want to do onions and potatoes, etc., I imagine we could leave that for a year.

I'd leave them alone until you know what they are.

But canes will probably raspberries up to about 6' in length, any longer then possibly loganberry bigger still blackberries, gooseberry's are thorny bushes, bushes with out thorns may be some kind of currant.

If you take some pics we could have great fun identifying them

Taking pics?  What an excellent Idea!  I will do that when I next get over there (I am not leaving my nice warm computer chair now)
