After a long hard search I have finally found it.
It is Cinquefoil a herb. ::)

I get that in my garden too and while it might be a herb, it's an invasive one. I pull out all I can find.
-
Looks like ground elder to me, and it is a real pain - highly invasive and difficult to get rid of. The tiniest bit of root will grow back if you leave it in the ground.
-
The leaves are not quite right to be ground elder. It looks more like cinquefoil and as Trillium says, you ought to get rid of it.
-
As it's got 5 leaves, my vote goes to cinquefoil and yes it is a real thug, although prettier than ground elder but just as invasive - exterminate, exterminate!
-
It is Cinquefoil which is a herb but a medicinal herb rather than a culinary one !

Get rid of it know .I t is what aunt sally said chinkysomething a reall pain if you let it grow.
Having said that it could be a potentilla of some sort but this group contains some weeds too.If the leaves are quite hairy it could be'Monarchs Velvet' but I dought is so as the vicar said to the nun'if in dought pull it out'
