We have just bought home 4 new hens.  Ive bought some hay by mistake.  Can i use this as beding till i buy some Straw.  If not can i lay hay in thier run.  Rob

I wouldn't if I were you.  They will probably try to eat it and it can cause an impacted crop.  Get some straw and find a bunny who would like the hay  :D

Many thanks for your advice.  Ive just been to Dover to buy Straw and Rid mite from a large pet store.  Met some shoppers their who were so very helpful especially the man who told me about Rid - mite.  Thankyou.
Hens are now sleeping.  Awaiting my first egg.
