BIG BIG HELP!!

Roundup won't touch it and digging is a nightmare.  Are there any known herbicides that will kill this pernicious pest please?
Cheers
Richard

I've got it on my plot. I've used double-strength glyphosate on it, which has contained it - spraying every couple of weeks.
But I've called the council in now - they have stuff which works apparently but it does sterilise the land around (2m circumference) for 2 years.
I would get advice from your allotment person at the council. It is so invasive there are laws about it so you need to know what their policy is.
Be careful with any chemicals and good luck!
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

I'd bite the bullet and try amicide - see my weeds and what to do article,  I bet it would do the trick and it's safer than glyphosate IMHO
Check out our books - ideal presents

we come across this stuff sometimes at work
and its a right pain to get a waste firm to shift it
on avarage a 8 yard skip would cost £150
but if you have knot weed in the spoil it can cost upto £500 for the same size skip, you have to tell the waste firm by law, gets realy complicated with duty of care etc, they class it as contaminated waste.
feed the soil not the plants
organicish
you learn gardening by making mistakes

Nothing quite cleanses like fire (I think I was Nero in a past life)
Ashes don't regrow and at least the nutrients aren't lost.

Hi, the skip thing does appear to be too costly so thanhs for that Shaun. As for burning John, I like the idea of having a bonfire on the site but the roots go down 2 ft so it would have to be one hell of a fire so not this time!
Cheers.  Richard
