Buying a new rotovator
« on: January 19, 2010, 15:06 »
Hi Everyone,
My old, very old Templar Tiller is past it now and I am looking at a new rotavator.
The ones I am thinking of must have a reverse gear so the Rally FYX850, or Dori MD50R or MTD T380 come to mind.
Have any of you had or experienced these models or suggest a different make about the 500 quid mark

I am a Honda fan really, My other toy is a Honda Pan European motor cycle.

Well the next day delivery did not materialize, nor Fri or Mon, it came this morning.
I unpacked it, read manual, keen to have a go, put oil & petrol in and it fired up straight away, engaged the clutch and nothing, engine running tines static, read manual again, still no difference.
Half an hour later I see a pipe connector with nothing connected, the penny drops, these Hondas have a pneumatic clutch, very little travel and very light feel.
I find the pipe, it's just pulled out, either when unpacking or in transit.
Rotavate an area about 20 sq metre with it, and it works great.
It is quiet, light to use, easy to start, the reverse is handy in a small area and appears to be well made.
                  Regards  Greg
