Do you have a favourite weed !!??

Mine is Scarlet Pimpernel,   :)  the only garden I ever encountered it on in any amount was my Grandfathers garden in South Worcestershire (my Dad did'nt garden much ) & his garden was 'three doors down' from ours.  Now I'm back in the village, my ground has lots of Scarlet Pimpernel & it's a real reminder of childhood days 'lazing' amongst the Gras' fronds with the Ladybird larvae & cooking Sausages on an open bonfire   (not to be recommended !!).  The bright red flowers welcome the sun & it is never more than a tidy rosette, so it's the one weed I don't Hoe up when I'm gardening. :D
......straight lines are for tidy minded people.....

...Mmmm.....wrong sort of weed ( Gras fronds......).....I only ever did Tobacco due to 'professional obligations'.....so despite having grown a fair bit by accident over the many years when I bred birds, that sort of weed doesn't count !

Favourite weed has to be an oxy moron  -  as for the other sort.. the Californians  biggest cash crop, I was told a funny by someone who grew it in his greenhouse. His father, an ex-customs officer was visiting so he hid it behind the the tomatoes. Took his dad 2 seconds to comment about how healthy his maryjanes looked.

We've got Scarlet Pimpernel at our plot, I don't know what it looks like myself, Steve told me, he works in that sort of subject. Its his favourite weed too.

I'm too new to have a favourite weed but I am often a bit envious of my wife's ability to wander about the plot saying "Oh thats a really good sign, thats hydroponicus sunchandsuchonomous."

Or something like that.

I like buttercups but I often mistake them for little strawberry plants. :?

Hi there, my favourite weeds are: curly bittercress, dandelion, nettles, brambles, all because they are edible to a certain extent. And milk thistle ( or milky dashels, in devonian), as the guinea pigs love them!!!
   Cheers!
Peas out!

scarlet pimpernel is one of my favs too. we have some at our allotment. cranesbill is a nice one too and fumitory! I used to work at an agricultural research centre and we kept plots with no herbicide application and the weeds were fantastic. I get geekliy enthusiastic with weeds! Sad I know.
