can anyone help. i have little white eggs and beautiful lime green eggs on my peas. i have tried to look them up but books are limited. i have taken the leaves off with the eggs on, but is it gonig to be in vain. shall i cover them over or just keep on checking (which i dont mind doing at all).

Well,.....what you don't want it to be is Pea Moth.....& I'm not sure where they lay theirs.....but you definately don't want them !  Can't think of many other insects which would use Peas as 'host' species ? don't hear of many Pea(Bean) leaf pests apart from Weevils & they would lay in the ground.
If it's moth.....get squidging !

Heather.....I think that's a "nice" Pea Moth, a pleasure to find rare 'pea' green moth hence called, for being Pea coloured (might be wrong)....not the nasty Cydia Nirgricana, lays eggs on peas & caterpillars eat into the peas in the pod type Pea Moth which is the pest.  Eggs (apparently) get laid on peas which are in flower in readiness for hatching in conjunction with the pods developing.  You'd expect the eggs to be close to the flowers ?
Mind yopu, the way they keep changing the latin names of things these day's it's a job to keep up.
