Just had a thought...maybe your little silkie has a nest somewhere and is laying so doesn't want you to find the eggs? Follow her next time she comes out ,but be discrete or she'll lead you on a merry dance! Silkies are notoriously broody so I bet that's what has happened!

See new post silkie found, yes she has laid eggs about a dozen and is sitting perfectly happily on them in one of the Pampas Grasses in the garden. She is being moved tonight before Mr Foxy finds her.

all safetly moved with a lot of telling off, 12 eggs in total and they were so hot! I just hope she settles again on the eggs ok after my interuption
