Title: Urgent advice re a Bantam
Post by: u looking at me on March 17, 2011, 17:23
Hello all

I am after some urgent advice on one of my bantam cockerels.  Yesterday he seemed a bit slow, hanging back from the others and generally looking a bit lethagic.  I took him away from the others and put him on his own.  Tonight I checked on him and he is lying with his head really badly twisted looking up at the ceiling.  His neck feels really hard like when you get a cramp.  I have never come across this before.  I havent had him long and have lost 2 hens that he came with.  Does anyone have any idea what it may be.  I was wondering if it could be a vitamin deficiency but really have no clue.  Any help greatly appreciated

Stat gazing can be due to a vitimin deficiency... B I think.  However I would probably take him to a vet, given the fact that you have lost two of the hens that came with him. :(

Yes I am going to go to the vet as I am getting a pm done on the latest hen that died. I think it may well be a deficiency but was bothered incase it sounded like something that may spread to my others
