Duck eggies

Hi guys, me over here with question. I have 2 broody ducks that have been sitting for about 3 weeks..........the eggies are duds

I know someone who even tho late in the year has got Runner duck X eggies that are fertile. Someone has said that the ducks probably wont sit for much longer cos they get bored quicker than chooks. I also have 2 broody chooks (silkies).
Should I get the eggies and give it a go or do you think it too late what with the cold weather on its way.

Jelly ooooh Duckie eggs

Ducks are easily disturbed when sitting apparently (never let mine do it so not 100% sure :?)
You could give it a go with the silkies though.

Ducklings are more hardy than chicks in that they don't actually need heat for as long.
Surely your colder weather can't be anything like what we've got here today :?

Give it a go but just keep ducks a bit more shelter and warmth from the weather. Your ducklings should just time it right to start laying in the spring.

Oooh ta. Getting all excited now

Will let you know how I get on. I have a logistical problem where I am pet sitting at the mo and the lady with the eggies (and a trio of White crested Polands by the way for 60 euros) lives quite a way away. So I have to sort it quickly but difficult at mo :?
