After the devestation of the other day when Mr Fox had away with our old ladies I spent the day creating a mini fort knox.
After having chooks around the place seemed so empty without them :(
So the hunt began in earnest and we have just picked up 4 warrens 12 weeks old and are collecting another 3 exbatts this afternoon :D
They can all be introduced to their new coop at the same time but already its great having some chooks back again!
I think im turning into a right softie ??? ???

Brilliant - I agree - once you've lived with them - I can't imagine living without them even though they pooh all over my garden, make dustbaths in the borders and generally trash the place :tongue2: :tongue2: thank goodness they haven't discovered the way into the house YET ::) ::) ::)

You weren't the only one to have a fox attack. One of our friend just got their chooks about month ago. She had a daughter who really got attatched. And when they got back from shopping the'd found Mr Fox had paid a visit :( 8 chooks to 1 chook in a matter of a few minutes. I feel so sorry for the last chook left :( grats anywho despite the bad news too :)

And before anyone says that that hutch is tooo small for 8 birds its just for some fun to explore

I have a hutch like that in one of my pens, and my Poland Honey always used to lay her egg in there, in preference to the nestbox in her coop. ::) think she liked the privacy, no communal changing rooms for Honey!
