Title: repotting chutneys..is it possible?
Post by: Siobhan on December 07, 2010, 23:05
???I made some chutneys in Sept and they are in the large Le Parfait jars and of course now I want to give them as presents but would like to put them in jam jars so I can decorate the tops with fabric and twine etc. Is it possible to decant the chutneys without possibly risking them going bad? anyone have a clue?...

The usual advice for repotting anything is to bring back up to the boil and then repot in fresh sterilised jars.
I don't know if you can do it in the microwave nowadays.....some one is sure to know :)

I agree with that.  A reboil and repot in hot jars is the only way to keep your friends out of the hands of the N.H.S.  ! ! !
