What happened to my Toms? [pics]
« on: August 14, 2009, 15:15 »
I went out this morning, as I do every morning, to check my toms, sweetcorn and everything else, and I was greeted with this!

potato blight.
All these moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Yes, against the kitchen wall right by my front door... first time growing them as well.

Do I have to throw both plants away that are in that planter, or just pick off the bad fruit?

Have added info link to previous post.
throw the whole plants away  - do not compost them.
I gave up growing toms outside because of blight and now only have them in a greenhouse.

edit : i didn't find that Ferline was particularly resistant

But only two toms are infected that I can see, can I pick the rest now, or do I have to throw them all away?

Last year all my patio toms got blight. I tried ripening unmarked fruit in a bag with a banana but they developed brown marks and did not ripen. In the end I took anything without a mark and made green tomato chutney. Last week my outdoor tomatoes down the allotment got blight (touch wood the patio ones are fine for now) I picked the lot to go straight into chutney!

Oh No!!! The same thing has happened to my toms as the peas!!!!
