Title: Mini Cloches
Post by: 2peasinapod on April 07, 2011, 08:07
I dont know if anyone else does this, but this ones for free in the spirit of the section...

since we got the plot i have been collecting the used 2l water bottles from asdburyco's, we get loads as neither the other pea or the sappling will drink the tap water in stafford???
cut the base out carfully with a sharp (watch those fingers children) knife and they make good mini cloches, push em into the ground and water through the top.
have found the best type are the Robinsons 3l ones as they are better to cut and have a larger hole in the top.
hope this is of use
or if your all doing it allready, i will get me coat.....

I did this on my allotment last year, and was asked by one plot holder what I was doing - I think they thought I was growing plastic bottles.  But they worked a treat.
