Bird of Paradise seedlings

I got some seeds when we visited Madeira.

They have quite fleshy roots so needed potting on quite quickly.

I had them for 7 years and finally decided I couldn't wait any longer for them to flower.  I had to keep lifting them, in their very heavy pot, into the house over winter and find a light enough space for them but not too warm.  So I gave up and put them in the cold greenhouse last winter - they have of course died 

Thanks both. I knew they were quite a challenge when I planted them but thought I'd give it a go

I'll get them potted on and see how we go.
