1st Earlies.....

:D Hi

Got some 1st Earlies today from the good old Wilko's.

When would people recommend I sow them?  Also, do you think these will be ok for a second sowing for a Christmas harvest?

Sow about March/April time depending on soil and weather conditions.  Ready roughly June/July.

What type of 1st Earlies are they?

I doubt they will store or be suitable for late sowing for Christmas - they specially treat those I think.

Its a shame if I cant grow some of these for Christmas - oh well.

Im sure I read somewhere on here that someone was thinking of / asking about planting seed potatoes from last year?

I always plant first earlies on St patrick's day 17 march - easy to remember - potatoes, Irish saint!  Might have to cover them a couple of nights if there's a late frost.

I'm planting Rocket this year - good all rounder.
