So sorry to hear this - I know from friends and family that it is such a painful condition.

Have you tried searching online for recommended exercises?  Sometimes there are some that are approved by the physiotherapy people.  That might help alleviate some of the pain?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

NHS Sciatica stretches here https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/exercises-for-sciatica/

I always found a hot water bottle on my lower back, when sitting, helped release the clench, as well.

My Osteopath showed me how to do tennis ball massage against a wall, or the floor if you can still get there..

Good luck!

Oh poor you, I had sciatica when I was pregnant with our first child, he was on my sciatic nerve, no fun trying to jump up out of a chair when you’re 7 months pregnant.
Here’s my yoga teacher’s link to her exercises for sciatic pain, she’s very good

Just to say, take it seriously. I've had it for years on and off but the last time it was awful. Caused muscle spasms and a pal who is medically aware rang 999 as I was in so much pain and couldn't move. They put me onto a doctor who arranged high strength codeine and low dose of diazepam which relieved the spasms and helped a lot.
Now, nearly a year on, I'm still being very careful. Moved some pallets a few days ago and end up having to take a diazepam to get to sleep as it was cramping again. My doctor doesn't like prescribing addictive drugs :) and I'm down to 6 pills :(
The exercises do work, but don't strain. My osteopath helped a lot too - until lockdown stopped me going. Good luck.
