A local yob broke onto my allotment the other day and culled all my birds. My whole show stock and breeding stock poultry have been destroyed. Hundreds of pounds has been lost. He has done this in revenge for me reprting him for neglecting a shetland pony he had, it was severely amaciated and had been attacked by a pair of lurchers, he provided it with no medical care and so he was prosecuted. What can i do?? I am scared to report him to the police. Please Help :cry:

Oh Kizza what an awful thing, my heartfelt sympathy and support go out to you! Do you have evidence?
I would call the police and explain your anxiety to them -perhaps you coould get some professional advice from somewhere? How about the local papers get some publicity going? Could you all the allotmenteers and start a watch of some kind -he might not be so brave to take all of you on.

:cry: You poor thing, I agree with Foxy though, report him, tell the police the whole story, they may not be able to do anything but its worth a bash, I am afraid if it was me I would probably resort to violence, I try very hard to be calm and spiritual but guaranteed animal cruelty brings out the worst in me. Hi,  I'm so sorry this is awful for you - you really should report it to the police.  As a word of warning you should be careful about naming names on public forums as you could get done for libel.  Also once something is mentioned in a forum it is very easy to pick up on the search engines.  This could make things much worse for you.

kiz you must call the police, even if it just means that they are aware of whats happening.

you should have called them immediately, even if you cant see any evidence, its not to say that the police wouldnt.

You've got to go to the police - don't worry, they won't put you in further peril. They probably won't be able to do anything this time but at least they'll have your intelligence on file.

Rember that his actions shout to the world what a scum bag he is. You are the better person. I agree that the world has a knack of giving people what they deserve - i am sure he will get his at some point. As for going to the police - i understand your anxiety. It is rare, fortunatley, that you come across, someone who will behave like such an animal but when you do you have to wonder about what else they will be prepared to do. A confidential chat with the police may give you an idea of whether you can expect any justice in this case (evidence and such). It may also confirm that you are better off cutting your losses and moving your chicken and veg operation to somewhere this degenerate cannot get at you.

What he does have in his favour with the police is that the birds had quite a high money value. I think (and may be wrong) the police take higher value crimes more seriously.

People who mistreat animals are one of the lowest forms of life.

im so sorry for what has happened

the problem is with the way our laws are is there any point in reporting him

it seems to me that he will just get away with it like they all do

now im not saying he should get away with it but you need to think about this

Go to the police immediately. One of our plotholders had his chicken coop  set fire to last year, killing some of the birds and injuring a lot of the others so they had to be put down. The police patrol regularly now, and the neighbouring houses now report any suspicious behaviour they see.
