Title: ramallet tomato seed
Post by: timdunn on March 16, 2019, 01:03
Hello

I’m trying to find somewhere to buy ramallet tomato seed but have drawn a blank. Does anyone know a supplier in the UK? They’re supposed to be fantastic for storage and, by all accounts, can last over 10 months! They’re a Mallorcan heirloom variety and grown extensively on the island so am surprised they’re so difficult to find.

Thanks!

I tried de Colgar the year before last and sadly they did not do well for me.  The yield was very poor.  I had much better success with the widely available Principe Borghese bush tomato which was stupendous last year and kept well.  In October I went on holiday to Naples and acquired some seed for Pomodorino del Piennolo del Vesuvio tomatoes.  These look very similar to Principe Borghese and must be related.  They were hanging up on strings in the kitchen of our hotel in the hills where I sourced the seed.  Will see how they do.
