I just went down to check that everything was well on the plots. It was my first visit to the site in my new role of treasurer for the site

Today I looked at the frozen ground and was glad I had dug over a new patch about a month ago, the frost will help crumble the soil.

Saturday, as the ground was frozen solid, we tackled the jungle in the next-door neighbour's garden... he said we could.

Reduced the height of his side of the hedge, cut out enough bramble to reach to the moon and cleared his lawn of all the trimmings and even more brambles trailing across it.

Didn't find Dr Livingstone but the foxes will be disorientated when they come out tonight!

Started to clear my construction zone and what looks like the remains of an old compost heap I think from the storage area. I have also done a photoshop artists impression of the proposed area...

Looking good Gavin!!

I escaped while the coast was clear and returned with (far too many) seed potatoes as well as shallots, onion sets and my son carrying the garlic I am, apparently, going to grow!!  ;)

Today I've made the first sowing of Okra 'Clemsons Spineless'. It is now occupying a spot on the front room windowsill.

A bit of trial as to whether it will grow in Cornwall but worth since we both like eating it.

I am hatching an idea to create a lean-to using a the base off a double bed that I stripped down to its frame at the weekend
See pic below
The other half of the base looks like making a cold frame at the moment.

Cleared the area I'm going to use for storage, then dug over the 20x10ft plot where the spuds are going this year.

I set up a blow-away with a fleece and plastic cover on in my greenhouse, then moved my brassica seedling's in that I potted on yesterday.

Calabrese seedling's in 3" pots, spares in mod cells.

Cabbage seedling's in 3" pots.

I also checked over my rotavator today. I like to start up and run on tick over for a couple of minutes once a month so I know its running alright when I come to use it.
