Hoping to get to lottie after work today to plant out last of the tomatoes. It is late I know but the ground has only just started to dry out and the nighttime temps are getting better.
If I have time, a quick furtle in the potatoes to see if there is anything worth having.
I have my own cement mixer and not afraid to use it!!

Wow! Paul you have done some work there! It is so satisfying to see what you have accomplished - and all the more so when it was really bad to start with! You must be so pleased. What a lovely, tidy greenhouse you now have (says she rather enviously! Mine is so full and chaotic doing anything at all requires the flexibility of a yoga master!) :)

Thanks for your comments. It was kind of you.

As much as anything I think I am relieved to have the mess cleared and the greenhouse in a useable & manageable state. Now I can get on with the next job that needs doing.  ;)

Hopefully, next year, I can put the greenhouse to better use early on in the season.

Sounds like a very productive visit. Well done you!!  :)

All I seem to be growing at the moment is more impatient every day, grass and weeds and strawberries by the bucket load... shouldn't complain... better than just growing old.

Shot down early this morning before 7am, got an hour of weeding and path clearing done, and picked some raspberries.

In early spring, I planted some new raspberry canes, and also a single loganberry plant. The new growth is coming through well, so I tied them back today.

However, I somehow managed to break off the top part of the loganberry plant, so not sure I will get much from it this year!

It'll re-shoot. 1st year of growth is unlikely to give a great crop anyway....but it'll make up for it later.  ;)

O well :( :( :( Plot 6b is under water and I am concerned about my crops on it. It just about finishes it for me.
I think I would have been OK but the Pond next to my plot seems to have a blocked overflow!!!!!!! Plot 20 is fine.

I watered in the greenhouse and  added some cardboard to the compost heap
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

started off a new compost heap
lifted  some shallots, garlic and trimmed off a few red onion scapes- had them for my tea yum.
potted on some chillis and sweet peppers and some tomato side shoots- had a couple of trusses so hopefully the will have enough time to set fruit and ripen.

I've been to have a look at the damage after the hailstones of yesterday,I've got quite a few brassica's snapped & broken. I have still got some spares of cauli's. The way I feel at the moment I may just maintain what I've got done already & then just get some early preparation in for next year.
