Title: First time I have done this in 40 years of gardening............
Post by: RichardA on June 28, 2012, 19:08
................weeded amongst potato rows. Never in 40 years can I recall having to pull up weeds amongst potatoes - little weeds get grubbed up as I hill up and anything else is soon overtaken by the canopy and loses interest but this year although potatoes went in about on time their canopy growth was delayed and weeds of course have loved the wet and shot up and up. Luckily the ducks love the weeds so once pulled the weeds get slung into their enclosure for conversion into eggs and "duck muck enriched" straw for the compost bin.
Just illustrates to me the difference in this year.

It's always different, isn't it, in one way or another?  ::) :D
