Good afternoon all
I got myself a massive bucket (16kg) of stalosan F for my weekly clean of the coop and run so i am sure to eradicate and wormy parasites and nasties! :tongue2: I was just wondering, if i use stalosan inside the coop, sprinkled under the bedding, do i still need to use the Diatomaceous Earth (smite - organic one), i usually make it into the sludgy mixture with washing up liquid and paint it on the inside of the coop and on the roosting poles every fortnight, or can i make the same sludgy mixture with the stalosan - it looks pretty much the same as DE apart from the colour. any advices would be very welcome!

(just updated with correct spelling of Diatomaceous Earth)!

Hi there. Stalosan is a powder disinfectant so great against the germs and smells. I find it particularly useful in wet weather. I wouldn't be overly liberal with it in a bit careful in the coop as you want to try & avoid a dusty atmosphere which doesn't agree with hens.
I don't think it will be of any help againt red mite - this is where the Diatomaceous earth or other agents like Poultry Shield can help. but I don't think.
Hope this helps
