I've got an ordinary B&Q hoe and it's fine. I've been filing a bit of an edge on it, which makes it better. But it's not very easy to use in my crowded beds when things grow up - has anyone seen a short-handled narrow hoe?

Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

I was thinking of bending a thin wallpaper stripper. Might not work but would be a cheap experiment.

I use an old carving knife bent at about 60 deg. It works wonderfully between plants

I'v got a hoe type device from bulldog, it's only 2" across, ideal for getting in between plants
