Title: Recommendations for fruit supplier?
Post by: Nobbie on March 13, 2024, 12:35
Just looking to buy a dozen raspberries and a Tay berry. I have the Pomona catalogue, but they seem really expensive at about £20 for six raspberries, £20 for the Tayberry and £10 postage on top. Last time I ordered a dozen strawbs, all but 1 died.

Any suggestions for alternative suppliers?

I get the Pomona catalogues as well, although I have never requested one.  When I have flicked through I have been struck at how expensive they are.

Blackmoors are a good supplier.  They specialise in fruit and grow it themselves in huge fields all around the farm they are based in.  Some of the ‘posh’ apples in M&S come from their trees.

The other place I have bought from is this one.  Everything I have had so far has been good.

Thankyou, I have now put my order in to Blackmoors for 15 rasps, a Tayberry and a Loganberry and as it just sneaked over £50, I got £8 off which almost paid for the postage :D

Too late for you Nobbie but we used Blackmoor for the trees in our allotment orchard and were very pleased.
I have also used RV Roger in Pickering a few times for my own  fruit and found them to be excellent.  They have a huge range if you want something more unusual.

Yes, I’ve used them before, but couldn’t remember the name and they didn’t turn up in my searches. Shame as I was looking for a specific fig, but Blackmoor only had two types.
